LASER CATARACT INFORMATION

1.Cataract Surgery is the only proven way to treat cataracts and restore your eyesight. At AEC we use Phacoemulsificaion technique to operate cataracts and restore vision. Generally you report at 11 am, we operate by 12 noon and by 1-2 pm you can go home. If a patch is put on your eye after surgery, it will be removed before you leave.

2. Advanced lens implants have the ability to improve reading and computer vision without glasses. You can learn more about types of lenses here….

3. The procedure itself takes about 10 to 15 minutes. It is typically painless, and you'll go home the same day. You'll be awake during surgery, but the doctor will numb your eye. They can give you medicine to help you relax, too.

4. After the procedure, your vision will be blurry for a little while. You'll need to wear an eye shield and sunglasses to protect your eye while it heals.

5. Your eyesight will go back to normal within a few days to a few weeks.
