EYE CARE AFTER SURGERY

PUT DROPS FROM ABOVE
Retract the lower lid and put one drop of the medicine in the eye. If water or medicine comes out, wipe it on the cheek below. Dont rub or wipe the eye

APPLY EYE SHIELD FOR 7 DAYS
The eye shield needs to be taped over the opearated eye at night. Once the eye shield is in place the patient can sleep on either side, with or without a pillow.

NO HEAD BATH FOR 7 DAYS
Avoid taking a head bath for a week as we dont want water from entering the eye. You can shave or wipe your face with a wet cloth. Use sterile tissues to clean around the eye.

WEAR PLASTIC GLASSES

TRAVEL
The eye shield needs to be taped over the opearated eye at night. Once the eye shield is in place the patient can sleep on either side, with or without a pillow.

TV AND MOBILE VIEWING
You can watch TV or use the phone within a couple of days of surgery. Excess use can cause strain. Monfocal implants will rquire reading glasses for phone, newspapers etc.

KITHCEN WORK AND COOKING
Take a week off from the kitchen. Light kitchen work within a couple of days of surgery is permitted. Wear plastic protective glasses while working and keeping the hands clean
